• Online: It's easy: 3 clicks, no phone, no forms! All you need is your member/contract number (on your BCBS ID card) to order refills on the Medco website. Online tip for family members: All covered members 18 or over must register and grant permission for you to view and fill prescriptions on their behalf by selecting 'Household view.' When do I use mail order?
If you take a prescription medication on a regular basis, you can save over 50% with Medco By Mail. You can get up to a 90-day supply of your covered medication for one mail order co-pay delivered right to your home. Standard shipping is free, and medication is delivered within 7 to 11 days after you place your order.

How do I get started?
To use mail order for the first time, you must first obtain two prescriptions from your doctor - one for a 14-day supply to be filled at a participating retail pharmacy and the second for up to a 90-day supply for mail order. The home-delivery prescription can be sent:

• By mail: Download the mail order prescription form.
• By fax: Use Medco's fax prescription form. Bring the form to your doctor - only your doctor may fax a prescription by calling 1-888-327-9791 for instructions. You will need your member/contract number to print a form, which is on your BCBS ID card.
                                                                  

How do I change from retail to mail order?
Make sure you order your mail order medications 14 days before your medication runs out.

• By mail: Download the mail order prescription form.
• By fax: Use Medco's fax prescription form. Bring the form to your doctor - only your doctor may fax a prescription by calling 1-888-327-9791 for instructions. You will need your member/contract number to print a form, which is on your BCBS ID card.
• Online: Login to Medco. Once logged in, go to Prescription History, view Retail Prescriptions, and click on the blue house symbol and follow the instructions. If you are a first time user, you must register and provide a prescription number (Rx#) from a medication you have filled within the past year through mail order or your local retail pharmacy. Online tip for family members: All covered members 18 or over must register and grant permission for you to view and fill prescriptions on their behalf by selecting 'Household view.' Long-term prescriptions - Mail Order
If you take a prescription medication on a regular basis when you need greater than a 34-day supply, you can get up to a 90-day supply of your covered medication for one mail order co-pay delivered right to your home through Medco By Mail, 24 hours a day. Standard shipping is free, and medication is delivered within 7 to 11 days after you place your order.

Short-term prescriptions - Retail
Use a retail pharmacy for short-term prescription needs. You can get up to a 34-day supply of your covered medication for one retail co-pay. Use Medco's pharmacy locator to locate a participating retail pharmacy near you.
 

 
Overview
A co-pay is a flat dollar amount (or percentage) paid by the enrollee for each separate prescription order or refill of a covered drug. Reduce your out-of-pocket costs with:

• Mail order: Order drugs through mail order for up to 90-day supply for only one mail order co-pay, saving you over 50% over retail pharmacies.
• Generic drugs: Opt for generic equivalents of your prescription drugs to get the same health benefits at a lower cost. Ask your doctor or pharmacist whether a generic version of your medication is available and if it would be right for you. A generic equivalent is a medication that contains identical active drug ingredients, dosage, etc. of a brand name prescription drug.

Participating Retail Pharmacies: For up to a 34-day supply at retail, you will pay:

• If there is a generic available:
  • $7 co-pay for generic drugs
  • If you, or your doctor, request a brand-name drug when a generic alternative is available, you will pay the generic co-pay plus the cost difference between the generic and brand-name drug.
• If there is no generic available:
  • 25% co-insurance, (minimum of $15 and maximum of $25) for formulary brand-name drugs (preferred).
  • $35 co-pay for non-formulary brand-name drugs (non-preferred)

Mail order: For up to a 90-day supply at mail order, you will pay:

• If there is a generic available:
  • $10 co-pay for generic drugs
  • If you, or your doctor, request a brand-name drug when a generic alternative is available, you will pay the generic co-pay plus the cost difference between the generic and brand-name drug.
• If there is no generic available:
  • $35 co-pay for formulary (preferred) brand-name drugs
  • $50 co-pay for non-formulary (non-preferred) brand-name drugs or the total cost of your medication, whichever amount is less

Non-Participating Retail Pharmacies: Reimbursement up to 75% of the Maximum Approved Payment (MAP) less applicable co-pay. You will be responsible for the difference in cost between the amount charged and MAP, plus 25% of the MAP amount after deducting your applicable co-payment. Prescription Drug Reimbursement Forms are available from the DaimlerChrysler Service Center (1-800-521-0488).
 

 
If you are eligible for a Health Care Spending Account, login to Medco (first-time users must register and provide a prescription number filled within the last year) and go to the Prescription Expenses link to print out a prescription expense summary. Submit the summary, along with your FSA Health Care Spending Account form, by April 30 to claim for reimbursement. All covered members 18 or over must register and grant permission for you to view and fill prescriptions on their behalf. This means if they choose to permit 'Household view,' their prescription records will be available to you. Likewise, you can grant permission for another household member to view and fill prescriptions on your behalf by selecting 'Household view.'
