1-800-GIVE-LIFE
In 2003, 22 Chrysler locations hosted American Red Cross blood drives; collecting 5,170 units of blood. If you are interested in giving blood,
visit the American Red Cross web site or call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.

Did you know:

  • The demand for blood is outpacing the donations received.
  • Americans underestimate the country’s need for blood transfusions. Every 2 seconds, someone in America needs blood.
  • The majority of adults also overestimate the number of people who actually donate blood. Less than five percent of the eligible population actually donates blood.
  • Hospitals throughout the country currently face postponing or canceling elective surgeries.
  • If blood supplies do not immediately increase, accident victims and other critically injured patients will be at risk for not having the blood they require to survive.
  • Blood availability is a preparedness issue. Blood must be on the shelf, ready and available for everyday personal emergencies and large-scale, man-made or natural disasters. The key to community preparedness is regular blood donations.
  • To donate blood, one must be 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in general good health.
  • If you used to donate as an employee but stopped after retirement, please consider donating -- give the gift of life…donate blood. To make an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.
